1.
they say that time will tell, but it won't take those scars away, please keep writing, do anything to keep you sane. because you walk those streets and you've never felt so cold past today. using dangerous language still. we tend to justify those reasons we've been standing still. keep your words near mine. organize. to know for once it means more than both of us. sing it to me one more time, please repeat it without lying. please don't lie.
2.
dad. 02:29
habits causing heart attacks and you're framing more easily now. mountain standard time just warped you. swapping criminal stories of a life i used to know, i tried to never be that boy. we choose tp blame it on the water not what we're actually made of. i've tried to scream your ship is sinking, please just maintain that grace. your father's flag still rests on my nightstand waiting for the answers. busy settling while sidewalks tell the stories of our worst walks. innocence breaks it all off, these are the stories of our lives. and i'd rather things go left unsaid even if we're already somewhat dead inside. the stripes leave their mark and i'm not giving up. you're not failing yet just giving up come back to life, your whiskey breath hasn't laughed in so long. you haven't laughed in so long.
3.
we all ask for gracious days and any lack of syncopation gets processed through our veins. percocet's a curse and i know you're shaking can you please try to talk this out? what are you waiting for? your night's on fire already. custer lost that war, you're not invested in that way. your room still smells like habits you should have left there and cigarettes we didn't smoke inside. that's right. it's hard to tell, the art you're committed. what's the drugs and how i know you felt. and i saw you screaming at the top of both your lungs, and i saw you reaching for atonement. you're not quite there yet, but what'd ya learn about the fall?
4.
i apologize in advance for sinking slowly in that legalese but we kept the same routines about it. the slightest notion you needed the cement from our homes to make it disappear. we sign those words you draw the lines your status builds we fortify. for all the mothers you made, the money's well achieved. turnstiles of blood and toil, our hearts have already moved on.
